“Spelunking.”
It’s one of those words that are fun to say. Simply
put, it’s the pastime of entering caves and tunnels
that are underground. Spelunking can produce hours of fun
for novices and experts alike. But before you play the role
of Batman, with your Coleman flashlight in hand, make sure
that you always put safety first!
Prior to your spelunking session, which creates a need for
using highest
rated flat irons afterwards, it’s important that
you round up the proper spelunking equipment. This should
include:
Miner’s helmet. Don’t be too hardheaded to wear
a helmet! Accidents happen. Caves are full of all kinds of
rocks. These include pointy stalactites on the roofs, which
could mess up the work that your Chi
Flat Iron has just done.
Flashlights: Spelunking can introduce a new world to you,
but only if you can see your surroundings. It can’t
be stressed enough that you bring a flashlight that’s
powerful and durable enough, such as Coleman flashlights.
Remember that deep in a dark cave or tunnel, it’s so
dark that nobody can notice that you just used one of the
FHI
Flat Iron!
Also, there’s always a chance that you could drop your
flashlight, or accidentally bang it against a rock. So make
sure you bring a Coleman flashlight, instead of a flimsy one
that would break into a million pieces if you dropped it.
Shoes and clothing: Boots are needed for spelunking, to provide
enough protection and support for your feet. Of course you
wouldn’t want to wear a tuxedo or gown while spelunking.
But remember that the clothing should not only be comfortable,
but rugged as well!
Pads and gloves: Gloves are useful for safeguarding your
body from cold weather and scraping against rocks and other
objects. So use a pair with same quality as highest rated
flat irons! On the other hand, elbow pads and knee pads are
ideal when crawling in a cave is required.
Ropes: These are important when you need to descend or ascend
steep areas in the cave. The ropes are usually operated using
various types of mechanisms, and are tied using techniques
such as the bowline.
Before you start your spelunking adventure, it is important
to determine exactly what equipment you need to bring. You’ll
have wait to operate your top rated irons at your campgrounds,
but you should still certainly bring the basics needed for
caving.
Then during your caving session, you should continue to follow
various guidelines to ensure that safety is always a priority.
To avoid becoming a permanent resident of the cave, follow
these tips to stay safe:
1. Bring enough food, in case a cave-in traps you.
2. Use a pocket mirror to spot key points in the cave, to
avoid becoming lost
3. Verify before spelunking that flooding is not a danger
in the cave
4. Bring extra batteries for your Coleman flashlight
5. Avoid direct contact with bats, who could have rabies.
6. Go caving with at least four cavers, so injured people
can be treated faster
7. Use ropes for steep sections in the cave
8. Know what feats you can and cannot achieve when spelunking
9. Use appropriate footwear, clothing, and equipment during
your spelunking session, and then your best quality flat iron
after it.
10. Avoid bottomless pits if you’re not an experienced
spelunker
11. Inform people outside the cave what time you plan to complete
your session
12. Be careful around waterways near the caves, which can
have strong currents.

your camping trip. And following certain safet
