Coleman Flashlight

My husband had an opportunity to go to the Sierra of Oaxaca in Oaxaca, Mexico which like entering another era of the past.  It took 8 hours by an old worn out bus which climbed the mountain very slowly going across rocky terrain and passing low lying creeks.  After arriving to a certain part of the Sierra or mountain passes, the bus doesn´t go any further.  So he had to walk for several hours in the dark.  He said that he would have loved to bring along a flashlight or a lantern, but because of the unsurety of how it would make there and he only took along a few things so that he wouldn´t have to carry it so far he didn´t do so. Since there was enough daylight left the day they arrived there was no problem. But the next day they went out to make a phone call which is three hours away then you have to wait to make the call because there is only one phone in town.  So returning home they had to cross through several different types of terrain, they brought along a few torches, pushing through tree branches and thick grass that never has been cut the path was not even a cut out path.  They were cutting through branches when all of the sudden one of the guys had fallen in a little trench and they had to try to get him out.  My husband had to stay back in another area because the torches were scarce, without a LED flashlight or lantern my husband was completely in the dark.  After hearing wild animals such as mountain lions and other night creatures and seeing little eyes everywhere it was a pretty scary situation.  He decided that the next time he would be sure to take along a led flashlight or a lantern.

When he got back we decided to look at the options that one would have in considering finding a good, efficient, lightweight led flashlight or lantern.  Camping lanterns might be a little hard since they use gas and can catch on fire, but there are lanterns that can run on 4 D batteries.  Also lanterns are good but can sometimes be a bit of a hastle with their size and shapes.  But lanterns are good for seeing at a good distance. 

We also considered our options of led flashlights many flashlights are small, convenient and easily stored.  We found led flashlights that had rechargeable batteries which are good options, but too if there is no where to recharge them then it would not work so well, but is great for someone who can recharge them.  The good thing about led flashlights is that they come in so many sizes and with so many options that it is easy to find something that could help us.  You can even find led pocket flashlights which are conveniently small.

We wanted a led flashlight or an emergency flashlight that had a larger area spand where the light could be seen a good one that we saw was a headlight flashlight that goes on your head and has good peripheral vision which extend the light in a good range so that you can see ahead a good distance.  These headlight flashlights are good so that your hands aren´t tied down giving you freedom to move branches out of your way.  They come with small AA batteries so they are easy to store.  We also saw these headlight flashlights in different sizes of power and weight.

Well we made our choice we bought a headlight flashlight and a small powerful pocket led flashlight.  He will never make this mistake again in not taking along even a small led flashlight. Whether it is a lantern of led flashlight don´t leave home on a camping gear trip without is what my husband told me.

For his next trip he is thinking of buying a lightweight backpack to store more things like the led flashlight.
